Our association for the prevention of cruelty to animals
consists of French and German living in the Provence.
All members of SansCollierProvence work voluntarily,
pay the costs for telephone and petrol out of their own pockets
as well as the costs for advertisements. Even this website is
homemade! All money donated goes 100 % to the anmimals.

In the French department of the VAR there is a lack of capacity
for stray animals. All shelters are hopelessly overcrowded
and cannot take any animals anymore. Our association cares mainly
for dogs that have been found by the police. These dogs are brought
to 'fourrieres', local dogpounds. All French local authorities are obliged to have a contract with a fourriere. Dogs that have been
found in their jurisdiction are kept in the fourriere for around
two weeks at the expense of the local authority. During this time
the owner may reclaim his dog if a penalty and a certain day rate
is paid. All animals without tattoos will be euthanised after this
time period.

SansCollierProvence has made it its mission to find for as many
of those dogs as possible a good new home. The association SansCollierProvence has no own animal shelter. The animals are
kept in kennels close to the fourriere.

The decision how many and which dogs can be rescued is depending
on the current financial situation of the association and is always difficult to make. The small white puppy over there will have a
good chance to be placed well; the German shepard with the
grey muzzle that is sitting in the corner and trembling probably not. We have to act rationally but cannot at all remain untouched
by the fate of the individuals.  And if only possible somehow
the old German sheperd will get his chance, too. To be able to
"finance" as many dogs as possible we are looking for donors
who will take over pension costs for a dog of their choice and
a time period defined by themselves, too. This gives us more time
 to find new owners for the dog via advertisements in newspapers
and internet.

ADOPTION

DONATION
The association urgently needs donations to be able to cover the costs for veterinary (vaccination, tattooing, sterilisation)
and to finance the accommodation of the dogs until
they find new homes.

PARENTHOOD
Often we do not manage to place a dog during
its time at the fourriere. However, after this time the local
authorities stop paying their contributions for the dogs.

Therefore we are looking for people who can take over the pension costs of 4,50 EUR per day in the fourriere. Often one or two
weeks are sufficient to find a new home for the dog and thus
to save it and keep it from euthanasia.
